I want to talk about your body. Yes, you. Every person is born with a unique set of genes that make them who they are. Each person’s body is given strengths and weaknesses. And it’s those challenges, both good and bad, that set us apart from everyone else. It would be so dang boring if we were all built the same. Now, some may say the grass is always greener on the other side, but they’re wrong. It really isn’t. Love you for who you are- because you’re the only you here.
Today, I am going to break down the different body types into 4 different shapes: hourglass, pear, apple, ruler. I recognize that these are just general shapes and may not wholly apply to each individual, but it’s a start to help you know what your body shape is and how to best dress that lovely shape.
First, let’s define each body shape:
Hourglass: Women shaped like this have well proportioned upper and lower bodies with a narrow waist.
Celebrity Example: Kim Kardashian
Pear: Women shaped like this have larger lower bodies and smaller upper bodies. Their hips are a little wider than the shoulders and weight tends to be below the waist. Usually, have a smaller bust.
Celebrity Example: Beyonce
Apple: Women shaped like this have larger upper bodies and smaller lower bodies. They have slim hips, large chest, and a flat stomach.
Celebrity Example: Drew Barrymore
Ruler: Women shaped like this have no significant differences between the size of their shoulders, waist, or hips.
Celebrity Example: Gyneth Paltrow
