How to Wear Sweaters with a Larger Bust Size
Posted on 02 February 2017
I know this is a long time coming, and a little late in the season I might add - but I've been dying to write a post on how to wear sweaters with a larger bust size.
On the bright side - lots of our sweaters on our SALE now, so score for you!
I was able to snag my lovely sister-in-law, Mandy, for a quick little photoshoot of her wearing some of her favorite sweaters in our shop. Don't judge, these photos aren't professional, but they'll help give you the right idea.
Mandy is 5'2 and is a size 38 DD.
It may not always seem like it, but one thing I strive to do is find items that are going to work for those with various body types. I know you might be terrified of the word "SWEATER" in fear that it will accentuate your bust size - but don't worry! There are some great tips to help you while picking out the right winter wear. Read below:
1. Find Sweaters that are Fitted
I know your jaw might be hitting the floor right now, but hear me out. When you wear a fitted sweater, it's going to create the right curves and thin out your waist line. Here are some great examples of those types of fitted sweaters you can look for in our store.

2. Go for a High or Low Neckline
You might expect a turtleneck to fight with a large chest, but with a fitted silhouette, it actually elongates your body, making your bust size less of a focus. In the image below, our model is a 34C - it's more of an average bust size, but it helps give you an idea of what to expect.

3. Wear Sweaters with Texture/Prints
If you're wanting to go for a more over-sized boxy look but you're afraid of the how it will fall on your chest - go for a sweater with texture! Texture creates an illusion of distraction which is your best friend when you're wanting to eliminate the focus on your lady friends. Prints are also another great option of eliminating unwanted focus.

4. When in Doubt, Wear Dark Colors
Winter is the season you can get away with dark colors, and if you're unsure of whether a sweater is going to work for you or not - try to find something with a darker color. I think the saying "diamonds are women's best friend" should be changed to "wearing black is a women's best friend" am I right?!

Never be afraid to wear a sweater because of your bust size. Own what you love and look for things that will accentuate the positive. Let us know if there's anything else you'd like to see or learn more at Paige Avenue!
